Can I tell you something I wish I’d been told forever ago?
You’re an “ugly duckling”.
But please don’t be offended by my use of the word “ugly”, because you’re definitely far from that! What I mean is that, very similarly to the story, you are an “ugly duckling” (aka a swan) and were raised by ducks.
You were raised in a world where your pants were too short, you couldn’t always fit into the latest fashion trends, and all of the other girls were significantly shorter than you.
They were ducks. The rest of the world (except for the few other women like you!) is also a bunch of ducks.
And you know what? Ducks are beautiful! Ducks are fun! There is nothing wrong with being a duck…but ducks don’t understand why swans look the way they do and, as a result, swans go around thinking they’re ugly.
Swans go around feeling misunderstood, ashamed of their uniqueness, and generally frustrated that they feel so inherently different than every other duck.
Don’t do that. For the love of all that is beautiful in the world, do NOT do that because you were made to be different. It’s all a part of the amazing plan for you ☺
So if you run into a “duck” who whispers under his/her breath or see someone eyeing your “swan-ness” with a strange look, realize that they just don’t get it.
You get it…and so do the rest of us swans over here at The Tall Society! We’re here for you whenever you need us to help you re-interpret your story.
Cheers to finding your bevy! (That’s a group of swans by-the-way)
