Wedding Bells Are Ringing!

Well, my lovely readers, I have something important to share with you.
I am not getting married☺. Not yet, anyway! I certainly hope to one day, and I am sure that wedding bells are in my future, but for now I am one of many women who enjoy occasionally looking at wedding and bridesmaid dresses just because they are so darn gorgeous!

I wish it were socially acceptable to wear a wedding dress every now and then without people questioning your sanity. I’m just saying… (lol)

In all seriousness, my Tall Sisters, for those of you thinking about or planning a wedding, have you ever wondered if there is even going to be a dress out there for you that will be long enough and will fit your beautiful tall frame properly? Because I sure have.

To my married Tall Sisters: Please drop all of your dress-shopping expertise in the comments below. Where did you get your dress? How did you deal with finding one long enough? Did you have to get creative with a shorter dress? Share your secrets with our community!

So being that I am a social media junkie, I came across the Azazie page on Instagram and fell in love with the aesthetic of their brand.

Azazie is based in Mountain View California, they are on a mission to reinvent the way you shop for special occasion dresses and believe that everyone should own custom-made pieces that are of the highest quality and tailored for a perfect fit – all the while being affordable. Their unique platform matches your needs to the skilled craftsmanship of a small group of artisan tailors and ships that one-of-a-kind dress right to your door.

The perfectly curated collection of bridesmaid dresses in perfect pastel shades, stunning wedding dresses, and the beautiful photography in each image had me completely intrigued and eager to continue this stroll through wedding dreamland.

Making my way to the Azazie website, what I found completely shocked me.
All of their bridesmaid’s dresses are under $160 AND all of their wedding dresses are under $399. What?! Hold on, hold on. I continued browsing, and discovered that on top of these extremely affordable prices, they offer the very thing all of us Tall Sisters need: made-to-measure dresses! Azazie has somehow managed to create a formula by which beautiful custom dresses are being made affordable to the masses.

Are you still with me, sisters? Have you gotten over the shock yet?

Armed with this valuable and exciting information, I did what every responsible Tall Sister would do. I contacted Azazie and got my own custom-made dress. I had a wedding to attend after all, and to be frank, I was very curious to try out their services.

I chose the Azazie Hillary dress in Royal Blue. After reviewing their easy-to-follow instructions on how to take your own measurements, I submitted my numbers and patiently waited for my dress to arrive. About four weeks had passed when I received the marvelous package in the mail.

As I slipped the Hillary on, I was thrilled to see how well this process had actually worked., Ladies, they got it right and the dress fit great! We added an extra 2 inches to the dress to take heels into account, so with my 3-inch stilettos the dress was still the perfect length. And I am in love with the bright royal blue color

When it comes to accessories, the dress speaks for itself and does not need anything overpowering. However, I knew exactly what would complement it: my custom necklaces from Moneé Elizabeth. My photographer and dear friend Denisse introduced me to this beautiful jewelry brand and the owner Latreacia after I had commented on some of her Instagram posts.

Moneé Elizabeth is a boutique jewelry brand that creates stunning handmade pieces, with incredible care and touch. Owned and managed by the lovely Latreacia, I knew I had to tell you ladies about her, because the pieces she creates are exquisite.

After speaking to Latreacia, she graciously made me my very own versions of the Gold Filled Bar necklace, one with The Tall Society printed on it and another with the positive reminder QUEEN. Both were perfect, of course, and I was elated. Check out that style here.

I will definitely be giving both Azazie and Moneé Elizabeth a call when my big day comes along because I am all about looking exquisite without breaking the bank, and on my best friends wedding day I felt pretty darn fabulous in my dress and necklaces!

To all my bride-to-be Tall Sisters, I hope this has been helpful. Make sure to tag @thetallsociety in your upcoming celebrations!
