You might know Lameka as the creator of HEIGHT GODDESS, a beloved staple within in Tall Fashion. Lets learn more about our beautiful Tall Sister!

What is your full name?

Lameka Weeks

How tall are you?

What is your current occupation and tell us about your professional journey leading up till now.

Has your height influenced your career? Please share how.

Totally, my first job interview I realized how much of an asset my height would be to my career. Most of my career has been in sales, when I would meet a new client they already knew me before meeting me. I loved it; it allowed me to build great relationships and to sell A LOT of things.

Please share the origin story of Height Goddess.

HEIGHT GODDESS was created because I couldn’t find clothes to fit me, specifically jeans. I knew at an early age I wanted to do something related to fashion catering to tall women. Initially, I thought to open a boutique but after researching for vendors who produced clothing for tall women there were very few and those that did were very outdated.  I realized I would have to create my own brand. HEIGHT GODDESS is a contemporary clothing line designed specifically for the tall, fashion-forward woman.

What do want our Tall Sisters to know about Height Goddess?

I created HEIGHT GODDESS because I wanted clothes/jeans to fit me. When I first started HG I was still working in Corporate America, each week I was on a plane to somewhere different. I would be on the road for weeks at a time before returning home. I traveled with four bags; one with my clothes in it and the other three had my samples and fabric in them. Along the way I would meet women, tell them what I was doing and have some of the women try the jeans on to get their feedback. On one occasion I was with a mother who is 6’5 and her 6’3 16 year-old daughter in a closet crying because it was the first time they had found jeans to fit them. I’m normally not a crier, but at this moment I was. On the drive back to my hotel I realized I created HG for the confidence and feeling it could give a young girl or woman. HEIGHT GODDESS is a brand with great fit and style made by a tall woman for tall women and I LOVE being a HEIGHT GODDESS.

Please give us a glimpse of the design process, how did you arrive at some of the pieces that you offer today?

The design process is never ending; I’m always taking notes. Most of the pieces we have today are from customer feedback.

Where do you draw your inspiration from?

I get inspiration from everywhere. I take pictures all the time of the craziest things and share them in our design meetings. Somehow my team understands my thought process and Thank God for the updated camera phone.

What has been your favorite design to date and why?

The HEIGHT GODDESS maxi dresses are my favorite designs because I receive pictures from customers and get emails of how pretty, feminine, sexy and confident they felt while wearing a HEIGHT GODDESS maxi dress.

What can we expect to see in the future from Height Goddess?

You can continue to expect a great fitting garment that makes tall women look great.

What is the advice you have for our Younger Tall Sisters?

Surround yourself with people who strengthen your spirit and leave a smile on your face when they walk away.

Is there anything else you would like to share with your Tall sisters?

I’ve meet so many amazing tall women and wished I had a way to share our conversations. My wish has come true with the launch of our podcast From One HEIGHT GODDESS to Another I’d love for you all to check it out.

Thank you so much for sharing your story Lameka. I hope we can find some time to meet and connect in person very soon! My lovelies please make sure to go check out Lameka’s podcast and hear more inspiring stories from your tall sisters.
