Extra Tall Jeans for my Tall Sisters

Hello from the streets of NYC!

Today I want to share with you my latest fashion discovery. Torrid is a women’s retailer with both an online presence and brick-and-mortar stores that carries stylish apparel in sizes 10-30 as well as footwear all the way up to a size 13. I had seen them being discussed here and there, but I did what us ladies of height usually do; I assumed they had nothing that would fit and kept scrolling.

This changed significantly a few weeks ago when the launch of their new jeans line caught my eye. The advertisements indicated they carried sizing from extra short to extra tall. Wait wait wait, let’s rewind. Bree, did you you say “Extra Tall”? Yes, my Tall Sisters, that is exactly what I said!

Feeling a moral responsibility to put them to the test, I got in touch with the lovely ladies over at Torrid and ordered some items.

The Torrid Ultra Skinny Jeans in Black Wash, size Extra Tall caught my eye, as it was nothing like what I already own. Now, extra tall in this particular style means a 33” inseam. So I understand this might not work for all of you long-legged ladies. The amazing news is that they do carry other Extra Tall jeans up to a 36” Inseam, so there are options ladies see all the current ‘Extra Tall Styles’ HERE! I had a specific ankle crop look in mind with boots, so this style would work for me, and it certainly did!

These skinny jeans and I are good friends these days. I am a big fan of the stretchy jegging fabric and the higher rise closure. They are SO comfortable! Seriously, hand over my heart, comfort-wise; these are my favorites right now. Torrid is winning me over because their jean quality is exquisite.

For the sizing of the jeans, I was way off. I ordered a size 20 because I am used to jeans never fitting me right, so I usually order a size up to accommodate my curvaceous hips. In this case, I should have just stuck with my regular size 16/18, as the 20 is now too big after the first wear and as a result I do a lot of washing and drying to keep them as small as possible. So learn from my mistake, ladies. Order your size! I just ordered my regular size in another pair.

To finish this laidback style, I added the Frank Sinatra Mugshot Tee in size 3 for an oversized look. This exact shirt is no longer available, but they have TONS of really fun shirts, check them out HERE. It was a particularly hot day, so I wore the Grey Wash Denim Shirt in a size 2 around my waist. Finishing the look are my favs, my loves, my Michelle Booties from Smash Shoes.

I’m excited to experience and share a new tall-friendly brand with you lovely ladies. Check out Torrid.com and tag #thetallsociety in photos of your new fabulous outfit!
