It is a special week everyone, this week our beloved trailblazer in Tall Fashion; Long Tall Sally are celebrating their 40th Anniversary.
On behalf of The Tall Society Team we wish the Long Tall Sally teams across the globe an amazing anniversary and we are celebrating with you, to 40 more years! #LTSsince76
A few words from our founder on her first experience with Long Tall Sally;
“It is 2007 and winter is fast approaching in London. I am frantically running around from department store to department store in search of a winter coat that fits. I am getting discouraged and I am cold. I wonder onto Chiltern Street and notice the Long Tall Sally store. The name grabs my attention so I figure to take a look. I am welcomed by my tall sisters and instantly know that I am home. I teared up at the cash-register as shopping had never been this easy at 6’4. I found my tall tribe and a kick-ass winter coat that day. That is where my love affair with Long Tall Sally began. – XO Bree”
In honor of Long Tall Sally’s 40th anniversary our contributor Katie is showcasing some of their latest looks.
BAM. Boss. Lady. Editrix. Behold this magic ensemble.
When you, the naked, put on this outfit, you become the starter of happenings, the head of the boardroom, the street photography muse. For me, I have an important meeting next month, and when I thought about what to wear, I knew that I should stop just trying on this dress and throw it on with a delicious pair of heels and walk into that meeting like a boss.
This Spliced Floral Shirt Dress from Long Tall Sally is sheer with side splits that trail behind you like a magnificent khaleesial train in the wind. I wore it with a black swimsuit top, but you won’t diminish its cool appeal if you opt for a more modest black tank underneath.
The fabric is 100% polyester, which is less fun, but helpful for those of us who do not enjoy ironing or drycleaning.
An even more badass compliment to this dress are the LTS Leatherette Leggings I wore underneath. I’ve been searching for a pair of such leggings, but they are usually either very expensive (more than $200 for leggings?) and/or have an inseam that would barely cover my kneecap.
These leggings have a generous fit, especially in the waist. The 35.2” length was perfect for 6’0’’ tall me, but might turn into an ankle pant for you taller girls. Although I wore black jelly sandals for this shoot, these leggings deserve to be worn with heels.
Long Tall Sally continues to win my affection for modern, fashionable tall style. I found them through The Tall Society blog, and each of my pieces continue to be beloved staples of my wardrobe. I think, perhaps, because they just fit so well.
Wear this, go forth, and act like you own the joint.
