Well hello there lovelies.
November is coming to a close and it is cold in New York. I am mentally preparing for what is to come, as supposedly this winter will be even colder than last year. I have flashbacks of last winter, standing ankle deep in the snow while my boyfriend is scrapping all the snow off my car so I can make it to work. It was rough last winter, but plenty of evenings on the couch in an onesie pulled me through. I am not one for cold. Some people get excited for winter, but not me. Although there is nothing quite like walking through Central Park when it is covered in snow, I will still opt for sun any day.
While preparing for winter my search for a proper winter coat commenced. In my search for a coat that will get me through those chilly days there were a couple of things that I was specifically looking for. I was dreaming of a coat with a classic and flattering silhouette, a coat with sleeves that are long enough. I have compromised one too many times when it comes to sleeve length and I will compromise no more. I deserve to have my arms full covered and protected:). I was looking for deep pockets, perhaps a waistband allowing me to give it more shape and a generous collar. I am great in dreaming up the perfect winter coat, now the challenging task was actually finding it.

The LISBET coat is a dream come through in every way. This substantial coat is made off virgin boiled wool sourced from Italy. Unlike any other coat on the market, the LISBET coat is not lined with a thin fabric. It is lined in itself. This concept is generally unheard of due to the high costs attached to achieving this. Double the yardage was used constructing the beautiful LISBET. By self-lining, LISBET speaks to MARGE’s upscale promise to their clients. No expense is spared to deliver an extremely warm coat for the harshest of elements.
The LISBET features an elegant wrap design, which is incredibly versatile. Wear it open, with any ensemble underneath, wear it draped over your shoulders for a more street style look or wear it closed. The possibilities are endless. LISBET is wrapped with a wide self-lined sash and has belt loops at the side seams accentuating your waist. This detail gives you a beautiful hourglass shape.
Lengthwise LISBET falls about mid-calf for most tall women. For me at 6’4 it falls over the knees, offering amazing coverage. You should know that I am smiling while typing up this review when I think off the sleeve length on LISBET. The sleeves are so long that I wear them folded over. Now this is a scenario I have never encountered before, but it is an oh so welcome one.
The LISBET has delicate silk lining in the sleeves and in the deep pockets hidden between the layers to keep your hands cozy and warm. Another detail of LISBET that I love is the extensive coverage it gives you around the neckline. It is as if you are wearing a thick scarf, the LISBET covers your neck and upper chest fully where cold air typically seeps in.
I have never experienced a luxury winter coat such as LISBET that fits me so well. She is such a welcome addition to my growing closet. I foresee LISBET and I becoming very close friends this winter and many more winters to come.
