Gwynnie Bee Travels with Bree – Cuba

2017 has been a year of incredible travel for me. Both personal and professional opportunities have brought me to the most interesting corners of the world.

Last year when the travel ban to Cuba was lifted, I began researching opportunities to visit this place that had been shrouded in mystery. Cuba was very high on my “to visit” list because of its rich culture, romance, and architecture steeped in time. A close friend volunteered to accompany me on this adventure, so our trip planning began. We settled on a seven-day stay to allow plenty of time to explore multiple cities on the island. Cuba, here we come!

Lonely Planet guidebook ordered, itinerary drafted, accommodation booked, local contact on the island confirmed, and Cuba travel groups on Facebook joined, check! I was in pretty good shape for the trip. Now that most of the logistics were taken care of, I could start thinking about arguably one of the most fun things: wardrobe.

I knew I could count on Gwynnie Bee to provide some great options. Things to consider were island temperatures and possible humidity, so items that breathe were a must. I would be very active, so what would allow me to move around? Your girl LOVES dresses, so I decided to add a few to my Gwynnie Bee closet that would be complementary on this once-in-a-lifetime trip.

Look 1/KELSIE WRAP DRESS WITH SLEEVES IN BOAT PRINT

The stretch in the jersey fabric makes for a comfy curve-hugging ensemble that did very well transitioning from day to night. The unique boat print gives this dress vintage flair.

Look 2/ OFF THE SHOULDER DRESS IN IVORY PALM PRINT

Those that know me are aware that I am a sucker for a good palm print. This asymmetrical crepe dress gave me flamenco vibes with its high-low hem. Both the neckline and the waist are elasticized for added comfort.

Look 3/ HURRICANE KIMONO MAXI DRESS

Melissa McCarthy is arguably the queen of plus-size maxi dresses; she just does them so incredibly well! The rayon fabric allowed air to flow through, while the kimono sleeve distinguishes this dress from the masses.

Look 4/ BROKEN LINES MAXI DRESS

This eye-catching geometric print is a true statement dress in my opinion. So complementary for us curvy gals, this number turned a few heads on the streets of Havana.

Gwynnie Bee totally came through with these looks and ensured comfort and style for my Cuba trip.

The people of Cuba are the kindest people. Everywhere I went I was met with kindness, warmth, and patience. They allowed me a taste of their beautiful culture, which left me wanting more. Cuba, you are stunning and I hope that more people will have the opportunity to visit your unique island.

Where am I jetting off to next? Stay tuned for my next adventure with GB travels.

Xoxo
