Exploring The New York & Company Tall Collection

New York & Company is a household name in the fashion industry, but did you know that they have an extensive collection for Tall Sisters size 5’9” and over?

Founded in 1918 with their headquarters in New York, NY&Co provides women with modern, wear-to-work solutions that are multi-functional at affordable prices. Their range should be commended, as they offer women worldwide straight, petite, tall, and plus sizes. No woman is built the same and NY&Co understands that.

With over 500 New York & Company retail stores, New York & Company outlet stores, and an E-commerce store at nyandcompany.com, they offer any shopping experience you might desire.

Needless to say, our team here at The Tall Society is very excited for this new partnership! Eager to try a variety of pieces from their Tall Collection, we opted to dive into some holiday dresses first. These are all good options for your upcoming office Christmas parties, friendsgiving celebrations, Christmas with family, and even New Year’s Eve.

This Velvet-tripe Sheath Dress caught my eye, mainly for the fabric. Picking between the Sangria and Teal colors available was hard, but I am happy with my decision. I am wearing an XXL Tall here. I have to say this dress made me look in the mirror twice. It is form-fitting in all the right places and is truly flattering for those of us that have a little more junk in the trunk. It holds you together; my curvy Tall Sisters will know exactly what I mean! Add this dress to your Christmas list, beauties. It is a winner, #BreeApproved.

In my line of work, I don’t get to dress up too often. I’m usually just in jeans and a t-shirt, so modeling this Ruffled V-Neck Sheath Dress in Primrose was a treat. The dress is hot pink, really outside my comfort zone (I usually wear dark colors), but something about the color made me feel sexy like I was a whole new woman. I felt like I was in Mad Men or something. Also, have you seen these sleeves? They are so fierce. I mean, come on. It takes the dress to a whole new level.

The dress is not only super sexy, but it’s also very silky. I never wore a body con dress that felt so nice and was actually very forgiving on the body. I know, as a curvy lady, I get nervous wearing tight dresses. It can always go one of two ways. Either it shows just the right amount of curve or shows all the wrong curves. This one showed all the right curves and more. After wearing this dress, I got very excited about this clothing line. NY&CO, a place that I never shopped before, is now on my list of go-to stores. Thank you NY&CO for making me feel like a sexy lady.

To be honest, I feel like I’ve been living under a rock because I had no idea NY&Co had a tall section. While looking through their pieces online, I immediately became excited. It’s another clothing company that can steal my coins with their wonderful array of tall clothing.

The Split-Neck Sheath Dress in Metallic Foil-Floral is stunning. It hugged my curves the moment I put the dress on. I was pleasantly surprised. When I showed my mom the dress, she loved it so much she wanted to take a picture of me in it, and you know when you get approval from your mom, it’s a winner. Pair this dress with cute pumps or sandals, and you’re good to go. This is a dress that’s also perfect for the holidays and everyone will be asking, “Where did you get that dress from?”

Now let’s move on to some smart, casual wear. New York & Co recently launched the Gabrielle Union Collection and let me tell you, the pieces are FLY! This Embroidered Sweatshirt caught my eye immediately; the puffy sleeves and the embroidered detail really elevate this sweater to an appropriate look for a Sunday brunch or any casual affair.

These 7th Avenue Pant – Pull-On Ankle Leggings are a perfect staple to add to my wardrobe. Here I am wearing a XXL Tall. To finish the look, I added some statement earrings and this super cute Small Satchel in English Tea Rose from the NY&Co Eva Mendes Collection.

The 7th Avenue Rosette Halter Top in Black is truly a staple to anyone’s holiday wardrobe. The added flower at the collar gives this piece a nice feminine touch. I absolutely love that this top is able to be paired with anything, whether it’s a pair of pants, a skirt, or jeans. It’s adorable with anything. Also, did I mention it’s quite comfortable as well? If you haven’t noticed by now, I am all for comfort in clothing. Who wants to be uncomfortable when they’re out on the town?

Now, on to the 7th Avenue Pant – High-Waist Pull-On Ankle – I’m in love. While shopping, more times than not, I try to find pieces I can also wear to work. These pants are definitely something I would wear to work or a night out on the town. They fit like a legging, but they don’t necessarily have the look of one. Are they comfy? YES.
