Already 5’10” in the 5th grade, Ashlie Hallman struggled with confidence until she went to college. “Then, I fell in love with my height,” she stated. “Standing out from others served me well. Being tall drew attention and gave me the opportunity to develop some really great relationships.” In college, she met her husband, who has played an integral role in her journey toward self-confidence. That journey is the reason why she has embedded values like confidence and body positivity into her brand, Smash Shoes. Her goal is for the shoes they produce and sell to make women feel confident and included.
Born in Los Angeles, California, Smash Shoes came to be in 2014, and has been providing size inclusive stylish, on-trend footwear ever since. Specializing in sizes 10+, they aim to fill the gap that women who wear larger sizes experience while shopping for shoes. Smash Shoes represents confidence and style, combined.

Tall Long and Curvy
Growing up, and even through high school, Chelsey McDonald struggled with her height and finding ways to be confident despite it. At 6’1, she was most certainly one of the tallest of her friends. As time went on and she graduated high school, she found it much easier to be confident in who she is and the body she was given. This newfound confidence motivated her to start her own company, Tall Long and Curvy, located in Columbus, Ohio last year in an effort to create a community of tall, long, and curvy beautiful women coming together to share experiences and different resources.
Starting a tall-inclusive clothing brand has always been a dream of Chelsey’s, particularly since she was 16 and started finding confidence in her height and appearance. “I’ve always struggled to find clothes growing up and the clothes that I did find weren’t in my price range,” said Chelsey. She saw a need and is doing her part in fulfilling it.
